JAZZ AT GEE’S

Every Sunday evening at Gee’s we entertain you with world class jazz and Latin music. Stylistically eclectic and culturally diverse, the music is geared towards the non-jazz enthusiast as well as aficionados, creating a superb atmosphere whether you want to directly immerse yourself in the beauty of performance or have it gently in the background as you chat or eat.

You can also experience jazz in Oxford at our sister venues The Old Parsonage and Quod Brasserie.

FEBRUARY
Sunday 7th
A celebration of the male voice in jazz featuring Gwyn Jay Allen.

Sunday 14th
There will be no jazz this Sunday. Gee’s is open as usual.

Sunday 21st
Jacqui Hicks performs an evening of the most beautiful jazz ballads in the repertoire. Jacqui is the vocalist about whom other jazz musicians sigh with relief when they hear she is on the same gig. She is totally in control and understands every nuance of the process of making jazz music - she is a musician’s musician as well as being an enormously popular entertainer, crowd pleaser and possessing an exquisitely beautiful voice.

Sunday 28th
Let there be love. The unforgettable life of Nat King Cole. Hailed as one of the best and most influencial pianists and small group leaders of the swing era, Cole attained his greatest commercial success as a vocalist specialising in warm feel-good slow tempo pieces most of which have gone onto world-renowned status due to his great musicianship and the quality of his recordings.

Sunday 7th
Brigitte Beraha performs some of her favourite jazz music both famous standards and more obscure but accessible tunes by some of jazz’s best lesser known composers. Accompanied by Tim Dawes (double bass) and Tim Lapthorn on piano.

Sunday 14th
Miriam Grey on vocals accompanied by Tim Dawes on double bass and Tim Lapthorn on piano.
