GEE’S RESTAURANT: FINE DINING IN OXFORD

Formerly a florist and greengrocer, Gee’s, Oxford’s favourite fine dining restaurant, was converted by present owner Jeremy Mogford fifteen years ago. Inspired by its natural features, he enhanced the building to create a glamorous, exciting restaurant space with a collection of Gary Hume’s artwork. Simple yet beautiful, this Victorian conservatory brings the sky into the comfortable, sophisticated room. The restaurant has a casually elegant look with soaring windows on all sides that flood it with natural light, making diners at Gee’s feel truly special. There is a big outdoor covered and heated terrace where one can enjoy a glass of wine or cocktails and dine in fine weather. Gee’s, in leafy North Oxford, is where you meet for a quick lunch that ends up stretching for hours fuelled by laughter, good conversation and great food.

The menu is based on seasonal food, local produce and fine ingredients. Our owner’s farm in Oxfordshire supplies the restaurant with Aberdeen Angus beef, Pol Dorset lamb and quail of a quality you won’t easily find anywhere else. Vegetables too are grown on the farm and delivered weekly to the kitchen. Only the freshest fish makes it to our restaurant, flown in twice a week from Jersey: crab, lobster, scallops, oysters, line-caught bass, sole, turbot and brill all make regular appearances on the Gee’s menu. The emphasis throughout is on top-quality ingredients and a fresh, uncomplicated and innovative approach to modern British and European food.

Our wine list selects wines from around the world that guests feel comfortable with, primarily from small producers. We look to wines at every price made from interesting grape varieties that are typical of their growing region. A great combination of classic and adventure wines.

Being a University town, the young, cosmopolitan staff who double as artists, poets and philosophers offer discreet yet impeccable service. Gee’s Restaurant, a local institution, captures the whole fine dining experience with its combination of good food, knowledgeable staff, thoughtful, stylish design and a great central Oxford location.
